Mahajan Commission Report Madhya Pradesh 1983

Mahajan Commission was formed under the Chairmanship of Shri Ramji Mahajan, MLA who was an MLA in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly. Five of the ten members of the Mahajan Commission were MLAs. The Commission submitted a report recommending 35% reservation for the Other Backward Classes. In 2019, the State of Madhya Pradesh increased the reservation for OBCs to 27% and thereby the overall reservation to 72%. Mahajan Commission report has been relied upon strongly along with BRAUSS report to justify the excessive reservation.
